Q1) What is the difference between A2 and normal ghee?
A1) Our A2 ghee is made using Gir cow A2 milk. A2 is a type of protein found in the milk of indigenous Indian cows. Since ghee is 100% fat, we cannot test it for proteins, so instead we test our cows! We use milk from 100% DNA certified Gir Cows for our A2 ghee. Normal ghee that you get in the market is made from the milk or jersey cows or mixed cows which are also called A1 cows.
Q2) Why is A2 ghee so expensive?
A2) A2 cows produce only 5-7ltrs of milk a day and it takes about 15ltrs of milk to make 1 ltr of Ghee. Therefore it takes 3 days to make 1ltr of A2 Ghee! In contrast it takes 1/3rd the time to make a litre of regular ghee which is why it is cheaper
Q3) What are the benefits of using A2 ghee?
A3) A2 ghee is very nutritious as the cows are grass fed and not injected with any hormones. The ghee is made using traditional, vedic methods. Since the cow breed is indigenous, the ghee is easier to digest and is good for people with lactose intolerance. It is also very good for babies, pregnant women and breastfeeding moms.
Q4) Who should use A2 Ghee?
A4) All Indian people should use this as it is very nutritious and good for the Indian body. However, it is especially recommended for breastfeeding mothers, pregnant women and children.
Q5) What is the shelf life of A2 Ghee? A5) Our ghee lasts for about 6 months
